The Freely Given Women’s Ministry had their second scrap-booking day this past Saturday and the women that attended had a great time.

Nikki Grepiotis was on hand with all her tools and knowledge to help with getting your scrapbook memories started.

She also had on site items to purchase and also catalogs to order by. The next scrapbook meeting will be held on Saturday, March 29, from 10 until 2. All are welcome and no major skills are required. Bring your book and pictures and creativity will be supplied. For further information see Shae Compton.

Iron Men Ministries at Destiny had their first breakfast/meeting on Saturday Feb. 16, 2008. Bernard Cornwell explained the mission of Iron Men and the direction that the ministry will be going.

Some of the ministry goals are to help men realize and find purpose and meaning for their life, understand who they are in Christ, help with everyday problems and difficulties, provide and effective ministry, and help build brotherhood.

The name Kirk Talley has been synonymous with Southern Gospel Music for over 25 years. He has been a member of such talented groups as the Hoppers, the Cathedrals and the Talley Trio. During his time with the Cathedrals, Kirk wrote his first # 1 song “Step Into the Water“. The song remained at the top of the charts for nine months.

While with the Talleys, Kirk wrote the song “He Is Here“. The Talleys received the 1992 Dove Award for ‘Song of the Year’ for this ageless song. He Is Here was also nominated for the 34th annual Grammy Awards that same year.

Kirk began his solo career in 1993. He has been traveling and singing all across the United States and into Canada. Kirk’s first # 1 as a soloist came from his project titled “I Speak to You“. The song, “Joy on the Other Side of Jordan” was only the beginning for Kirk’s list of accomplishments.

Kirk will be part of our Sunday service on March 2, 2008 starting at 10:30am.
